«Quiv’era l’Aretin che da le braccia fiere di Ghin di Tacco ebbe la morte» in the sixth Canto of Purgatory Dante Alighieri met Benincasa di Laterina murdered by Ghino di Tacco. Ghino di Tacco was a particolar character, he was born in the castle La Fratta in the territory of Torrita di Siena in the past. Today La Fratta is a famous movie set and Chianina breeding farmhouse. Ghino di Tacco was known as Brigante Gentiluomo of Valdichiana, a modern Robin Hood who stole from the rich to give to the poor.
With this experience you will discover the hamlets of Sinalunga and Torrita di Siena thanks to a Dante inspired path.
You will relive the descent into hell discovering the treasures of the underground tunnels of Sinalunga. Don’t worry: you will be accompanied by an archeologist and not by Charon. Once re-emerged, you will leave the hell to reach to Purgatory, in the castle of Torrita di Siena.
Here you will visit the village on the track of Ghino di Tacco and, finally, you will taste typical products like Cinta Senese salami and craft beer.
