From 19 to 28 May, the historical and cultural event dedicated to Chianina returns
The territory of Sinalunga and the nearby village of Bettolle are the homeland of the Chianina, the breed from which the authentic Florentine steak is obtained. It was precisely in the Real Fattoria di Bettolle, one of the sharecropping farms of Sinalunga, that the veterinarian Ezio Marchi scientifically studied the Chianina for the first time and undertook the selection of the specimens.
La Valle del Gigante Bianco celebrates the strong link between the Chianina and its land of origin, the Valdichiana. Two weekends made up of conferences, photographic and documentary exhibitions, folkloristic events, old-time games for the little ones, bike rides through the Chianina landscapes, market of typical products, guided tastings and many other opportunities to learn more about this animal, a true symbol of the Valdichiana.
