Cetona

Corsa delle Brocche di Cetona

The Corsa delle Brocche is a race requiring synchronization, endurance, and physical strength. It starts with a historical parade followed by two races symbolizing the inhabitants' efforts to fetch water. In the women's race, participants carry pitchers on their heads around Piazza Garibaldi, while in the men's race, the challenge is to carry heavy containers in a relay around the town walls. Don’t miss the chance to visit Cetona and enjoy this beautiful village during this traditional event, enriched by flag-waving and drumming performances.

Sagra del Bico

Bico is a typical flatbread from Piazze, a hamlet of Cetona, made with flour, water, yeast, oil, and salt, and baked in a wood-fired oven. This humble and ancient bread, originally cooked under ashes, is celebrated annually with a festival. For two weekends from late June to early July, you can taste traditional Bico, handmade and baked as in the past. The festival, organized by the "A Toscanini" municipal band, involves the entire community, with young and old working together to keep this tradition alive.
