Tria Turris
From 26 to 29 June, Chiusi hosts the Medieval street performers festival
An almost fairy-tale atmosphere envelops the hamlet of Chiusi during this festival, among jesters, fire-breathers, stilt walkers and acrobats. On the occasion of the Tria Turris, the famous Etruscan town shows us another face of its long past, taking us back to the Middle Ages. We are in the middle of the fourteenth century and the three Terzieri (factions) of the village, during the celebrations for the patron saint Santa Mustiola, compete for the keys of the city and local supremacy in the Palio delle Torri.
The evocative performances of street artists transform the historical center into a traveling stage, which marvels and enchants. To top it all off, the three historic Terzieri taverns with their traditional dishes, meat cooked in the characteristic "Foconi", specialties from Lake Chiusi and hand-made pici.
